Black & Gold is a story of the eternal search for Truth in nature, identity and existence. The narrative begins with a young woman traveling across the states on a Harley motorbike, looking for her own place in at all. She chooses to head out west to old New Mexico to find her own future and has heard the lore and stories of gold found in the land.
When she arrives in New Mexico, there is a feeling of dreams and recollections of having been here before. She sees the light breaking over the western mountains and feels all will be right, when she finds her own fortune. During the journey she meets many local people who carry a wealth of information and history. They gift her with the true map to find fortune in this mysterious place.
At the Taos Pueblo, the natives sing ancient songs with drums to bless this land and the holy mountains that begin to change you. Locals say if the mountain accepts you, you can stay, but if not it will make the journey very difficult.
As the script unfolds...beyond the trailer, Kristin’s bike breaks down and Vincente is one of the elders who talks with her, at his junkyard, about the Spainards search throughout the land. He talks of his family and the times they came to this land searching and wandering across the desert to only become lost again. He alludes to the real treasure out here, the gift of being in this beauty.
Tuk is the Shaman she meets on her travels, as she finds herself wandering on the mesa and looking for a reason to be here and heal. He gives her stories and songs of where the gold may be in these mountains, but reveals what all have been looking for comes from the earth and people.
The gift is one of "vision", in which Tuk says, "you can taste your dreams". This vision, comes through what is referred to as the "Grandfather", the ancient peyote cactus medicine. When she experiences this vision, history and nature is shown to her through the people in the land of enchantment, and she finds the freedom of what she came to search for.
